This October, the 6th annual $100,000 Ending Hunger Challenge returned, breaking its all-time fundraising record thanks to an abundance of generosity. Collectively, we raised an incredible $238,217 for our hungry neighbors in need—more than doubling our goal!
The Challenge is an annual fundraiser initiative supported by credit unions, their members, and people from across Maine with a goal of raising $100,000 in just one month for the Campaign for Ending Hunger. Funds raised for the Campaign remain in our state, uplifting hungry Mainers by benefitting Good Shepherd Food Bank, community food pantries, meal sites, and other hunger relief organizations.
As part of the initiative, 25% of funds raised online during the month of October were directed to Good Shepherd Food Bank–the largest hunger relief organization in Maine. The Food Bank received $35, 912.67 as a result of this year’s initiative.
October is not the only time you can donate. We strive to combat hunger for Mainers all year long. Click here to donate and help feed hungry Mainers today!
