2025 Top Seven Credit Unions by Category

The top seven credit unions in terms of dollars contributed to end hunger in Maine and per member contributions are annually recognized. Atlantic Federal Credit Union was the top credit union fundraiser in 2025, contributing $148,004.24 to combat hunger in the state. Gardiner Federal Credit Union had the highest per member contributions at $7.16 per member.

2025 Campaign Highlights

  • Maine credit unions contributed $1,496,116.71 to end hunger in 2025 and supported 298 organizations across Maine, including local food pantries, meal sites, and schools.
  • 100% of all Maine credit unions contributed to the Campaign.
  • The Campaign was recognized with a 2025 Herb Wegner Memorial Award by the National Credit Union Foundation.
  • 79% of Maine’s credit unions came together to provide $236,033 in emergency relief funding to Good Shepherd Food Bank in the spring.
  • The Annual Ending Hunger Golf Tournament and Silent Auction combined raised over $78,000 for the Campaign—the auction alone bringing in its highest amount yet at $10,550.
  • The 6th annual $100,000 Ending Hunger Challenge was an outstanding success, more than doubling our goal and raising $238,217 in just one month.
  • Due to the absence of free school meals, more than $35,000 was donated to Full Plates Full Potential by the Campaign and Maine credit unions to help feed hungry children during the summer break.
  • At the end of the year, participating Maine credit unions facilitated the Ending Hunger Celtics Sweepstakes, giving members the opportunity to win tickets to the Celtics v. Mavericks game where Mainer Cooper Flagg will play—all for donations to benefit hungry neighbors in need. The Sweepstakes was a success, raising more than $10,785.70!
