As temperatures start to drop, so does the cushion many Maine families have left before winter arrives. That’s exactly why every October Maine’s credit unions come together for the $100,000 Challenge—because the need doesn’t wait, and neither do we.
What we love most about this Challenge is that the number was never built by a handful of big gifts. It’s built the same way our movement is built—one member, one branch, one contribution at a time. A donation. A sponsored event. A bag of canned goods dropped off at a local credit union. It all adds up, and it all matters.
Funds raised for the Campaign remain in our state, uplifting hungry Mainers by benefitting Good Shepherd Food Bank, community food pantries, meal sites, and other hunger relief organizations. As part of the initiative, 25% of funds raised online during the month of October will be directed to Good Shepherd Food Bank–the largest hunger relief organization in Maine.
Six years in, we’re continually reminded that when Maine’s credit unions show up together, we can do something no single one of us could do alone. Join us again this October to make a difference for your neighbors in need.
